Obituary

Worcester- Carolyn C. (Valla) Cannon, 99, of Worcester, died Wednesday, September 4, in Odd Fellows Home, after an illness.

Her husband of 31 years, William P. Cannon, died in 1965. She leaves two sons, William M. Cannon of Stowe, VT, and Robert T. Cannon of Somerville; two daughters, Carol A. Cannon of Nashua, NH, and M. Christine Cannon of Richmond, CA; 2 grandchildren; 1 great grandson. A daughter, Paula R. Silverman of New York, died in 1984. She was born in Springfield, daughter of Alfred and Christina (Nicoloti) Valla and lived here most of her life. She graduated from the former High School of Commerce.

Mrs. Cannon was a volunteer for 40 years at the former Worcester City Hospital. She also volunteered at Assumption College and the Easter Seal Society. She was a treasurer of the Worcester City Hospital Aid Society for 25 years.

The funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 6, in St. Brigids Church, 59 Main Street, Millbury. Burial will be in St. Brigids Cemetery, Millbury. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice. Dirsa-Morin Funeral Home, 298 Grafton Street, is directing arrangements.
