
Anna Louise Brown, 78, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Monday, December 29, 2025 in Rome, Georgia.
Memorial services will be held 11 AM, Saturday, January 3, 2025, at The Grove in Fitzgerald, Georgia, with the Rev. BJ Funk officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church sanctuary.
Ms. Brown was born January 29, 1947, in Moultrie, Georgia, to the late Edwin and Annie Ruth Mauldin Brown. She graduated from Doerun High School with the class of 1965. After graduating high school, she attended Georgia Southwestern College in Americus, Georgia, where she graduated with her B.S. Degree in Education in Business Administration. She then completed her M. Ed, in Business administration from West Georgia College in Carrollton, Georgia. Anna started her teaching career in 1973 at Hawkinsville High School, teaching Business. In1974, Anna moved to Fitzgerald, Georgia, and started teaching at Fitzgerald High School. Anna retired from teaching in 2001.
In retirement, Anna spent her time with various organizations around Fitzgerald. Anna worked closely with the Blue and Gray Museum from 2001 through 2008. Anna also worked as a funeral assistant at Paulk Funeral Home. During her life Anna devoted much of her time to the community through active fellowship through her church and community outreach. Anna spent most of her life as a member of Central Methodist Church in Fitzgerald. She recently moved to the Grove prior to moving to Rome, Georgia. Since in Rome she lived in the Renaissance Marquis Senior Living Center, where she was able to join a loving and active community during her time there.
Anna is survived by her brother, Charles Brown and wife Dorothy Brown, of Milledgeville; her nephew, Charlie Brown and wife Shelli Brown; and two great nephews: Cooper and Cason Brown, of Rome.
