
Maria (Vazzino) Lottatore passed away peacefully at the Lahey Clinic on December 26th. She was 80. Born and raised in Augusta, Sicily, Maria was the daughter of the late Giuseppe and Concetta (Sylvestro) Vazzino.
After coming to the United States, Maria lived in Somerville, and after her marriage to Anthony she built a beautiful life in Burlington where they raised their two sons. Maria was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She kept a beautiful home where everyone was welcome. In the winter months she enjoyed staying in Port Richey, Florida. A devout woman, Maria made her Solemn Profession as a member of the Third Order of St. Dominic at the Parish of St. Dominic in Augusta. She will be remembered for her love of family, faith in God and resilience.
The beloved wife of the late Anthony J. Lottatore, who passed away in 1989, Maria was a devoted mother to Mark Lottatore of Burlington and Joseph Lottatore and his wife Elga of Gloucester. She was a loving grandmother to Victoria, Olivia, Anthony and Ava. Maria was a dear sister to Rosa Bertorelli and her husband Alfredo, the late Emmanuel and Carmelo Vazzino.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Saturday, January 3 from 9-10 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial Celebrated in St. Margaret Church, 109 Winn St., Burlington at 11 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
