KELLY, Rita M. (Manning) at 99 years of age of West Roxbury and Falmouth, formerly of Allston, passed away peacefully at home on December 25, 2025. Beloved wife of the late Andrew J. Kelly and daughter of James and Margaret (Whelan) Manning. Loving mother of Nancy Kelly Stutman and her husband Richard of West Roxbury, Mark Kelly of West Roxbury, Paul Kelly of West Roxbury, Richard Kelly of Weymouth.
Proud and loving “GRAMMIE” to 12 grandchildren: Sarah Stutman of Charlestown, Joshua Kelly of Revere, Jared Kelly and his wife Jessica of Foxboro, Jordan Kelly and his wife Samantha of Litchfield, NH, Jessica Gonzalez and her husband Doild of Hyannis, Alison Dunbar and her husband Peter of Cambridge, Dave Kelly and his husband James Hands of Dedham, Andrea Burns and her husband James of Scarsdale, NY, AJ Kelly of Worcester, Laura Kelly of San Diego, CA. Nathan Kelly of Lincoln, RI, and Kimberly Kelly of Cambridge. Also survived by 8 loving great-grandchildren.
Rita was predeceased by her brothers; Thomas Manning (Mary) of Needham and James Manning (Nancy) of Wakefield and by her sisters Mary Cox (James) of Waltham, Peggy Brown (Vernon) of Needham, Theresa Kelliher (Jack) of West Roxbury, and Barbara Roche (Paul) of West Roxbury.
Rita was a loving mother and wife with a career including secretary at the B & M Railroad Headquarters and many years as the guidance office secretary at Catholic Memorial High School. She was a longtime volunteer den leader for Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts.
Visiting hours at Gormley Funeral Home, 2055 Centre St. West Roxbury on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 from 3pm to 7pm. Funeral from the funeral home on Wednesday, January 7 at 10am followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Theresa of Avila Church, 2078 Centre St. West Roxbury at 11am. Interment Thursday, January 8 at Massachusetts National Cemetery, Connery Ave. Bourne at 12:30pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Rita may be made to the National Kidney Foundation or the National Parkinson Foundation.
