
Clifton Branam, 87, of Tifton passed away Monday, December 29, 2025, at Tift Regional Medical Center. His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 2, 2026, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Douglas Powell officiating. Mr. Branam will be laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 2, 2026, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service.
Gary Clark Sr., Gary Clark, Jr. Dustin Ussery, Gauge Ussery, Dennis Shannon, and Omar Munero will serve as pallbearers.
Born July 4, 1938, in Irwin County, Mr. Branam was the son of the late George Lee Branam and Lena Smith Branam. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Wiley Branam and James Branam; and two sisters, Pauline Hulett and Clara Branam. For approximately 40 years, he owned and operated Branam Body Shop in Tifton and he took great pride in his work. His outside interests included horseback riding and gardening. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, and he especially loved taking care of his family. He was of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Branam is survived by his wife, Ruth Elizabeth Simmons Branam of Tifton; one son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Tammy Branam of Tifton; one daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Gary Clark of Cordele; two grandchildren and their spouses, Nicole and Jimmy Johnson of Tifton and Jessica and Dustin Ussery of Ocilla; and five great-grandchildren, Abbie Carmichael, Sadie Carmichael, Gauge Ussery, Madison Ussery and Laura Johnson.
