Costello and his wife Dorothy of Reading. Loving brother of Margaret Cordeau of Everett, Helen Latoile of California and the late Joseph and John Costello. Cherished grandfather of Melissa, Daniel, Kristine and Caroline. Great grandfather of Nicholas and Arianna. Also lovingly survived by many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend a Funeral from the Smith Funeral Home, 125 Washington Avenue, CHELSEA on Friday morning, September 8th at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 250 Revere Street, REVERE at 10 o'clock. Visiting Hours in the Smith Funeral Home on Thursday from 4-8 PM. Services will conclude with interment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
Born, raised and a lifelong resident of Chelsea, James at 88 years, passed away at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital after a long illness.
After working for Green Shoe in Boston for over 23 years, James took employement with the United States Postal Service at it's Airport Post Office. He held this position for over 16 years retiring 10 years ago at the age of 78.
A Coporal in the United States Army during World War II, he was a member of the Merritts Club, the Irish Club both here in Chelsea, the Beachmont VFW Post and the Malden Moose.
