Obituary




Lucia Lombardo (Latina) passed away peacefully in her sleep on Christmas night. She was 80. Born and raised in Ortigia, Siracusa, Sicily, she was the beloved daughter of the late Gaetano and Giuseppa (Bramante) Latina.

Lucia and her husband Gaetano were married and soon came to the United States, settling in Medford where they raised their family and built a lifetime full of love. Her primary interest in life was caring for her family. Her home was a welcoming and nurturing place where a delicious home cooked meal was always ready. She enjoyed sewing and all the other things to make for a beautiful home. She and Gaetano enjoyed an active social life as members of the Societa’ di San Michele in Everett, where they enjoyed dinners and wonderful gatherings with friends, celebrating their Italian heritage.

The beloved wife of the late Gaetano Lombardo, who passed away in 2014, Lucia was a devoted mother to Anthony Lombardo and his wife Rosemary, Josephine Molinari and her husband John and the late Anna Lombardo. Lucia was a loving grandmother to Kayla Comerford and her husband John, Brian Lombardo and his wife Hailey, Christopher and Brenna Molinari. She was also a proud great-grandmother to Jackson Comerford.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Thursday January 1st from 4 – 8 PM and again on Friday morning, January 2nd at 9 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 AM in St. Anthony Church, 38 Oakes St., Everett. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
