Obituary

Albert W. “Mike” Bancroft, age 91, of Melrose, passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, after a long period of illness.

He was the loving son of the late Albert H. Bancroft and the late Christina (Delaney) Bancroft, formerly of Tewksbury, MA, and husband of the late Patricia (Rooney) Bancroft, formerly of Wollaston, MA, with whom he shared many years of happy marriage.

Mr. Bancroft graduated from Tewksbury High School in 1953. After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and served faithfully until his honorable discharge from active duty in 1956.

Mr. Bancroft earned a degree in electrical power from Northeastern University and worked for the New England Power Service Company as an engineering technician for 37 years, retiring in 1993.

Mr. Bancroft was a member of the Stoneham Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses located in Saugus.

He enjoyed playing his piano, listening to music and attending family gatherings.

Mr. Bancroft is survived by two loving sisters, Priscilla Titus, of Andover and Mary Castricone, of Salem, NH. He also leaves many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are Friday, January 2, 2026, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee Street, Tewksbury.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 3, 2026, at 11 am at the Stoneham Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 6 Kingdom Way, Saugus MA. Those attending are asked to meet at the church.
Following the memorial service, please meet the family on Saturday, January 3, at 12:30 p.m. at Wyoming Cemetery, 205 Sylvan Street, Melrose, MA for his interment service.
