WILLIAM “JIM” J. PEARCE OBITUARY
William “Jim” J. Pearce, 88, of Gipsy, PA went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at Punxsutawney Area Hospital in Punxsutawney, PA.
Jim was the son of Benjamin and Mary E. (Gillen) Pearce, he was born on April 20, 1937.
On May 25, 1957, he married Mary “Mim” C. Kime and they shared over sixty-six years of marriage together.
Jim was a hardworking coal miner his entire life, dedicating his career to the mines and retiring with pride after many years of service. Known for his strong work ethic and resilience, he provided for his family through honest, demanding work and earned the respect of everyone who knew him. He retired from the Hillsdale Mining Company. Outside of work, Jim was an avid hunter who found peace and purpose in the outdoors. Hunting was never just a hobby for him ---it was a way of life, and an opportunity to share stories and lessons with those he loved.
Jim was a devoted husband, father and a proud grandfather. Above all else, his grandchildren were the pride and joy of his life. He rarely missed a chance to brag about them. Whether teaching them about the outdoors, sharing a laugh, or simply spending time together, he created memories they will carry with them forever.
He is survived by his four sons: Charles Pearce of Gipsy, PA; James Pearce and wife Linda of Dixonville, PA; David Pearce of Gipsy, PA and Joseph Pearce and wife April of Commodore, PA; his six grandchildren: Charles G., Travis J., Marissa and Jayden Pearce; Marin and her family of Northern Cambria, PA and Charlotte of Revlock, PA; his sister: Goldie Good of Indiana, PA and his brother: Norman Pearce of Glen Campbell, PA.
