Luisa Chaple (Ibañez) age 94, of Boston, MA, passed away peacefully on December 22, 2025, surrounded by her daughters and loved ones.
Born on April 26, 1931 in Havana, Cuba, Luisa was the daughter of Julio and Luisa Ibañez and was the beloved wife of the late, Manuel Chaple, with whom she shared over 50 years of wonderful marriage.
Luisa was a talented seamstress that worked for many years at Pacifici’s of Boston. She cherished her time spent with her daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and will be remembered for her love of Cuban cooking, sewing, playing Chinese checkers, and cheering on the Red Sox.
Luisa was the loving mother of Maria Seliber and her husband Roy, and Luisa Gonzalez and her husband Ray. She was the adored Nani to her grandchildren Stephanie, Andrew, Daniel, Trevor, Sara and Amanda and was the caring great-grandmother to Zoe, Ruby, Sunny, Miles and Diego.
Visiting hours will be at the William J. Gormley Funeral Home, 2055 Centre St. West Roxbury on Tuesday, December 30th from 3-7pm. A private burial will be held on Wednesday, December 31st.
