Richard A. Zylinski, 75, of Derry, NH, passed away Monday December 22, 2025, in the Portsmouth Regional Hospital, Portsmouth, NH. He was born on March 17, 1950, in Fayetteville, NC, a son of the late Theodore and Margaret (Baker) Zylinski. Richard was a graduate of Marshfield High School in Marshfield, MA, Class of 1968. After graduation, he enlisted in the US Air Force, where he proudly served as an ace jet engine mechanic. After his many years in the corporate world as a purchasing agent, he was a motorcycle and antique car enthusiast and adored his family and home. Those who were fortunate enough to know him knew him to be someone who was always there to help a person in need or share a laugh.
He is survived by the love of his life, his sunshine and wife of 47 years, Catherine Zylinski of Derry; three children, Candace Dillingham and husband Bryan of OK, Samantha Blanchette and husband Ron of NH and Michael Zylinski and wife Mikala of NH; six grandchildren, Nicholas Zylinski and wife Kali, Aaron Blanchette, Trey Melton, Eva Lyons, Madison Knight, and Myla Zylinski; one great-grandson, Caiden Blanchette; sister, Marylou Tribou and husband Ken; a sister-in-law, Sherry Silverman; a brother-in-law, Walter Maxwell and wife Diane; as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family. He was predeceased by his sister Susan Zylinski.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, December 28, 2025, from 1 – 3 PM in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 29th at 11:00 am in the First Parish Congregational Church, East Derry Road, East Derry, NH. Burial will follow in the Forest Hill Cemetery, behind the church.
