MISHCHENKO, Igor of Natick, formerly of St. Petersburg, Russia, passed away on December 21, 2025. Beloved husband of Victoria Mishchenko. Loving father of Anthony and Irene Mishchenko. Grandfather of Alexander and Timothy. Sister of the late Olga Mishchenko. Brother-in-law of Yuriy Finkelberg and Natella Dayn.
Igor was born in the Ukraine on 11.01.1953. Lived with his parents and his younger sister and has a very happy childhood, playing with his classmates, neighbors, going to school and learning new things year after year. After he completed his military service in the Soviet Army, he decided to relocate to St. Petersburg (then Leningrad) to explore new opportunities. Graduated from a vocational school, where he proudly mastered welding. Since then, worked as a welder at various shipyards in St Petersburg.
In the 1990s, at the breakup of the Soviet Union, Igor became a merchant sailor, working as a welder in the ship's engine room. Travelled all over the world, started new friendships and explore new countries. Languages were easy to master. He spoke English, Polish, Russian and Ukrainian and had no problem communicating with anybody anywhere.
Igor came to the United States in 2000. Lived in New Jersey until we met in January 0f 2006. Our attraction was deep and mutual. Igor moved to Boston, and we got married in July 2006. Had a very happy life together for almost 20 years. Went cruising, travelled to Russia and Northern Europe. Igor was fond of rock and roll music and became a fan of vinyl records, which he enjoyed listening to in his spare time. Igor was loved by everyone in my family and will be tremendously missed
A graveside service will be held at Boylston Lodge Cemetery, 776 Baker St. West Roxbury on Wednesday, December 24th at 12 Noon. Relatives and friends kindly invited.
