
WEBSTER – Prudence A. “Pru” (Belanger) Velez, 79, passed away Sunday, December 21st, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family.
She leaves her husband of 45 years, Nelson Velez; a son, Rob Velez of Webster; two grandsons, Gage and Kyle Velez; a great-grandson, Lucien Velez; a close niece, Denise Glines and her husband Todd of Worcester and their children Nicholas and Gabrielle. She also leaves a niece Michelle Allard and her husband Harvey of Dudley, and their daughters Kayla and Kasey. She was preceded in death by her twin sister Pauline Dallair and by her sister Janice Belanger.
Prudence was born on November 19, 1946 in Southbridge, a daughter of Romeo and Emily (Meyer) Belanger and was raised in Dudley. She graduated from Bartlett High School in 1964. She has lived in Webster since her marriage.
Prudence was working at Anglo Fabrics in Webster as a spinner when she met her husband, Nelson. Prudence then went back to school to become a CNA and went on to work at Sandalwood Nursing home in Oxford. She retired from Sandalwood in 2016.
Prudence was a lover of all animals, especially her cats Daisy, Patches and Bones. She had many beloved pets throughout her life whom she loved dearly.
Prudence enjoyed taking long Sunday rides with her husband, exploring country roads, stopping to look at any horses she would see along the way.
Prudence will be missed more than words can express and will be forever remembered for her kind and loving spirit.
Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of Sitkowski, Malboeuf & Hickey Funeral Home,?340 School Street.
