Robert H. Comtois, age 81, of Mansfield, passed away peacefully, in the presence of his loving family on Sunday, December 21, 2025 at the VA Medical Center in Providence. He was the beloved husband Donna M. (Rogers) Comtois.
Born in Central Fall, Rhode Island on September 198, 1944, he was a loving son of the late Harold A. and Marie A. (Bergeron) Comtois.
Bob grew up in South Attleboro and was a 1962 graduate of Attleboro High School. During the Vietnam War, he proudly and bravely served his country as a member of the United States Army. He was honorably discharged from active duty on May 13, 1968.
Prior to retiring, Mr. Comtois had been employed as a chauffeur for twenty-six years at the former Englehard Corporation in Plainville. He also worked as a custodian at Saint Timothy’s Church in Norwood.
A resident of Mansfield for the fifty years, Bob was a communicant of Saint Mary’s Church in Mansfield. He loved spending time with his adoring family and his hobbies included golfing, playing scrabble, family traveling trips and also had an interest in metal detecting.
In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his devoted children, Keith B. Wood of Mansfield and Donlie M. Wood and her wife Linda of Easton. He was the cherished grandfather of Kiara Wood of Mansfield and Cian Wood of Providence. He was the dear brother of Paul Farrish of Texas and the late Paul Comtais. He is also survived by his loving nieces and nephews.
Services, along with burial at Saint Mary’s Cemetery in Mansfield, will be private and visiting hours are omitted.
