Margarida Fernandes Centeio (63) of Brockton passed away peacefully on December 20th at home, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Antonio Rodrigues Centeio of Brockton.
Born in Santa Catarina, Fogo, Cape Verde, Margarida was the daughter of the late Amancio Fernandes Afonso and Maria Luisa Fernandes. She was employed by Amazon as a cleaning agent and was a devoted communicant of St. Edith Stein Church in Brockton. Margarida enjoyed cooking and dancing and was known by all who knew her for her generous heart and kind soul.
In addition to her loving husband Antonio, she is survived by her five brothers, Jose Fernandes Monteiro, Joaquin Monteiro Vicente, Augusto Fernandes Afonso, Arcenio Fernandes Monteiro, and Amancio Fernandes Afonso; her sister, Maria Da Silva; and many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held at the Funerarias Multi Culturel, 238 Court Street, Brockton, on Friday, January 2nd, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM.
Viewing will take place at the Funeral Home on Saturday morning, January 3rd, at 9:00 AM, followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Edith Stein Church, 71 East Main Street, Brockton at 10 am. Burial will follow at Melrose Cemetery, 88 North Pearl Street, Brockton.
