John F. Venezia, a longtime resident of Somerville and formerly of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at his home in Somerville. He was 89 years of age.
John was born in Boston on January 27, 1936, a son of the late Raffaele E. Venezia and Agnes T. (Hayes) Venezia. He grew up in Charlestown where he was educated in the Boston Public School system and graduated from Charlestown High School. John began a lifelong career working for Stop & Shop Company following graduation from high school and he worked for the same company for over 60 years and retired as a Manager for Stop & Shop Company. In his spare time, John enjoyed gardening around his home in Somerville.
John is the beloved son of the late Raffaele E. Venezia and Agnes T. (Hayes) Venezia. He is the devoted brother of retired Boston Fire Department Captain Fred Venezia and his wife Peggy, Joseph Venezia and his wife Joyce, Frank Venezia and Mary Ellen and the late Ralph Venezia and Rose M. Gochakowski and her husband Ronald. He is also survived by his many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend John's visiting hours on Saturday, December 27, 2025, from 10:30 A.M. to 12 Noon followed by his Funeral Service at 12 Noon in The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown. His burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden.
