Etta Rose (Vinyard) Carter
March 12, 1934- December 19, 2025
Etta Rose Carter, 91, of Anderson, passed away at home on December 19, 2025. She was born on March 12, 1934 in Saline County, Illinois, the daughter of Robert and Frances Vinyard.
Etta was employed by General Motors for 38 years and was a member of UAW Local 663. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and enjoyed bridge, reading and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter Lynn (Dale) McDole; grandchildren, Nathan (Sarah) Hensley and Shana (David) Gallaway; great grandson, Sam Hensley; brother-in-law, Harry Carter and nephew, Shawn Carter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Frances Vinyard, her husband, Edward L. Carter and her siblings Mary, Alice, Kenneth, Maxine and Betty June.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at 1:30 PM at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service, west end chapel. Burial will follow at East Maplewood Cemetery. Visitation will be held 2 hours prior to the funeral at the funeral home on Tuesday.
Memorial contributions may be given to Christ Lutheran Church.
