THORNTON ---- Shirley Kenelia Griswold, 81, of Joshuas Lane, passed away at home on Wednesday, December 17, 2025.
Shirley was born on July 6, 1944, in Laconia, the daughter of Fredrick and Juliette (Blair) Fabian.
While attending college Shirley met the love of her life, Frank “Mike” Griswold.
They were married in Laconia, NH in April of 1965 and later moved to North Attleboro, MA, where they lived for over 50 years.
She loved living next door to her son and daughter and their families. Many summer nights were spent around the table beneath the big black walnut tree sharing stories, laughter and the joy of being with one another.
She and Mike made many incredible memories traveling across the country and also cherished the simple joy of a Sunday drive together. Their adventures -big and small- were among the happiest moments of her life.
In the difficult time after her husband passed, she rescued Belle, a gentle cat who remained lovingly by her side and brought her comfort and companionship.
Though she will be deeply missed, the memories she created and the love she gave will remain with her family forever.
Shirley is survived by her daughter Stephanie Bonenfant and her husband Gil Bonenfant of Thornton, NH, her son Frank Patrick Griswold and his wife Debbie Griswold of North Attleboro, MA, grandchildren, Jasmine Bonenfant, Sydney Cummings and Hannah Griswold, brothers Fred Fabian, and his partner Alma Howe, of Northfield, NH and Russel Fabian and his wife Elaine Fabian of Meredith, NH and sister-in-law Jane Griswold of North Attleboro, MA. In addition to her parents, Shirley was predeceased by her husband Frank Michael Griswold and her sister Flora Ellen Langston.
In keeping with her wishes, Shirley’s family will hold a private celebration in honor of her memory. At this time, no services are planned.
