
“Margaret” Ann Howard Lewis, 82, of Tifton passed away Thursday, December 18, 2025, at the Rehabilitation Center of South Georgia in Tifton. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 20, 2025, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with Jamie Purvis officiating. Mrs. Lewis will be laid to rest at Tift Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 19, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mrs. Lewis’ grandsons, Timothy Hall, Jeffrey Miller, Richard Purvis, Daniel Cooper, David Simpson and Justin Simpson, will serve as pallbearers.
Born May 27, 1943, in Tallahassee, Florida, Mrs. Lewis was the daughter of the late Herbert Leo Howard and Mary Ann Nestick Howard Sells and her step-father, Robert Sells. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters and one son-in-law, Jennifer and Keith Smith and Joyce Thompson; a son-in-law, James Purvis; one grandson, D. J. Golden; and one great-grandson, Christopher Oates. Before retiring she was a winder operator at Queen Carpet in Tifton.
Mrs. Lewis is survived by her husband, Mickey Wayne Lewis of Tifton; two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert Leo and Faye Miller of Cordele and Lamar and Deborah Thompson of Poulan; five daughters and three sons-in-law, Linda Hall of Cordele, Barbara and Jerry Gray of Easley, South Carolina, Lynn Purvis of Tifton, Priscilla and Carlton Souter and Sue and Joe Tribulak, all of Poulan; seventeen grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and ten great-great grandchildren.
