
Mary "Maisie" Theresa (McGuckin) Conlon passed away on December 17, 2025 surrounded by her loved ones. Mary was predeceased by her husband Robert James Conlon, who she was married to for 57 years. Born November 11, 1937 in Cork, Ireland, she was 1 of 10 brothers and sisters and part of the Lynch and O’Sullivan Family.
As a young teenager Mary worked at the Blarney Woolen Mills in County Cork, Ireland. Mary left Cobh at the age of 16 and started her adventure to the States on the USS New York. Maisie arrived in New York Harbor at the age of 17. After a brief stay in New York, Maisie came to Brookline and met the love of her life Robert Conlon at a dance hall and could not resist his blue eyes. They were married in 1957 and filled their lives with 6 children, 5 boys ( Kevin, Brian, Sean, Robert, and the late Glenn) and 1 girl (Kathleen). They then moved into the house that Bob built with the help of friends and family in Dedham.
Maisie raised, nurtured, and loved many more than you think is possible. Maisie was blessed with 13 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren all of whom were her pride and joy. Maisie made it a point to include all her friends and family consistently in her life that they all felt the depth of her love. Maisie was a force of nature who touched many lives around the world and will be missed by all who knew her.
Visiting hours will be held at the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St, Dedham on Monday, Dec. 22 from 3-7pm. Her funeral will be held from the funeral home on Tuesday, Dec. 23 at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church, Dedham at 10am (accessible parking in the rear of the church). Relatives and friends kindly invited. Interment in Brookdale Cemetery, Dedham.
