Fernando Silva Cesar, 43, of Derry NH, passed away on December 17, 2025 in his home surrounded by family after courageously battling against cancer. He was born on October 12, 1982 in Salem, MA, a son of Mariana (Novais) Cesar and the late Jose Cesar. He was raised and educated in Peabody, MA and was recently working as a machinist at MKS in Middleton, MA.
Fernando’s greatest joy was being a father, and many remember him as being an incredible one. He prided himself on being consistently present and reliable in his daughter, Sophia’s, life. For every event, whether it be field trips, dance competitions, and concerts, he showed up for it all. Everywhere he went, he was greeted by a familiar face which proves how involved he was in the community. In his free time, he was engaged with some of his favorite hobbies—playing video and board games, drumming, biking, or watching sporting events—but most importantly, he prioritized his days socializing with the neighbors and making memories with the people he loved and who loved him. A special moment for him was taking a family trip to Old Quebec, CA last year to enjoy the Christmas markets and touring the city, an endeavor made by him and his wife, Diana. As a couple, their relationship involved appreciating the simple things in life, whether it be exploring the local farmer’s market, planning date nights, or simply going grocery shopping. All that mattered to them was doing it together. To put it simply, his wife, Diana, was the love of his life, and he was hers. Together, they planned on enjoying every moment they could with the family that they built. Although their time was cut short, their love is everlasting. Their journey was difficult, but their unconditional love and drive for success granted them the life that they always envisioned having with one another.
He is survived by his loving wife, Diana Baez-Cesar, and his daughters Sophia Cesar, Lezmari Castrodad and Dianaliz Castrodad of Derry; his brother Carlos Cesar, his sister Maria Cesar, mother of his child Tanya Cesar, and her parents Juvenal and Lucia Brasil of Peabody, MA; neighbors of Berry Rd. (BRB) of Derry; as well as his nieces, aunts, uncles, and many more family and friends. He is predeceased by his brother Arthur Cesar.
