Robert “Bob” Lavoie, 85, of Little Compton, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, December 12, 2025, surrounded by the comfort of the life he loved. He was the former husband of the late Marguerite A. (Pereira).
Born in Fall River, Bob was the son of the late Armand Lavoie, Sr. and Sarah (Montgomery) Lavoie, and he spent most of his life in Little Compton. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. For many years, Bob worked as the service manager at Saccucci Honda in Middletown, where he was known for his dedication, strong work ethic, and straightforward honesty.
Bob found joy in everyday moments. He loved tending his garden, carefully mowing his lawn, and taking pride in the beauty of his yard. He enjoyed playing chess, cooking for those he loved, painting, and relaxing while watching Fox News. He had a deep love for all animals and shared a special bond with his beloved dog and best friend, Bo.
Bob appreciated life’s finer pleasures—good wine, music from Broadway shows, and the open road. Some of his happiest times were spent on road trips with his dear friends Donald and Joan Crowther, creating stories and memories that would last a lifetime. He also valued time with his close friend Billy Bullivant, spending many days together at the Westport Social Club and Crowther’s Restaurant. Billy always made time to help not only Bob, but Bob’s family as well.
Above all else, Bob treasured time with his family, whether sharing a meal, a conversation, or simply being together.
He leaves behind his children: Christine A. McElroy and her husband Scott of Westport; Nicole A. Greene and her husband Jerome of Locust Grove, Virginia; and Jason R. Lavoie and his wife Jocelyn of Middletown. He was the proud grandfather of Ethan and Lucas McElroy; Madison and Grace Lavoie; and Autumn Greene.
He is also survived by his siblings William “Billy” Lavoie of New Hampshire, Shirley Holmes of Fall River, and Patricia Perry of Dartmouth, along with many nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.
Bob was predeceased by his siblings Armand “Butch” Lavoie, Jr., Mercedes Lavoie, Steven Lavoie, Richard Lavoie, Donald Lavoie, and Dennis Lavoie, as well as his companion, Priscilla Wilbur.
Arrangements are private.
