WEBSTER – Judith M. (Kaczynski) Poplawski, 80, passed away Sunday, December 14, 2025 in UMass at Harrington in Southbridge after an illness. During her final hours she was surrounded and comforted by her loving family.
She leaves her husband of 58 years, Richard P. Poplawski; 3 sons, Gary A. Poplawski and his wife Elizabeth of Webster, Dean P. Poplawski and his wife Katherine “K.C.” Poplawski of Dudley, Daniel P. Poplawski and his wife Claudine of Rowe, MA; a daughter, Sara E. Caggiano and her husband Mark of Goffstown, NH; 10 grandchildren, Abbigail, Vivian, Caroline, Sofia, Izzy, Hannah, Emma and Grace Poplawski, and Luca and Nico Caggiano; a sister, Mary-Anne Posenau and her husband John of York, PA; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers Francis and Thomas Kaczynski.
She was born on July 14, 1945 in Ware, a daughter of Raymond and Genevieve (Orszulak) Kaczynski and raised there. She has lived in Webster since 1955. She graduated from Bartlett High School in 1963 and then earned an Associate’s Degree from Worcester State College.
Mrs. Poplawski worked as a teacher’s aide at the Webster Middle School for 23 years before retiring.
She was a member of Saint Louis Church. She enjoyed working in her garden and yard, traveling with her husband and family, as well as visits to the casino. Her greatest treasure was spending time with her grandchildren.
Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of Sitkowski, Malboeuf & Hickey Funeral Home, 340 School Street.
