Ernest J. Carroll, Jr., 80, of Memorial Avenue, Johnston, died Monday, December 15, 2025 at his home, with his family by his side. He was the husband of Kathleen (Furtado) Carroll. They had been married for 51 years.
Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Irene (Masse) and Ernest J. Carroll, Sr. He had lived in Johnston since 1974. He was a US Marine and attained the rank of Sergeant.
He worked at Integrity Air Services.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his children: Jeffrey Carroll and his wife, Rosanna Rickers of Warwick and Stephanie LaPointe of Granby, CT, his two grandchildren: Lainey and Oliver and his sisters: Susan Layne, Denise Noel and Carol Loe. He was the brother of the late Janet Hargett and David Carroll.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, December 19, 2025, at 10am in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Greenville. Burial with military honors will follow in the Rhode Island Veteran’s Cemetery, Exeter. Visitation will be Friday morning 8-9:30am in the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Rt 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
