Salem: Louis P. Rainville, age 80, of Salem, died Sunday, September 3, 2006 in the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. He was the husband of the late Frances P. (Gillespie) Rainville.
Born and raised in Salem, he was the son of the late Ludger and Emelia (Dube) Rainville. A veteran of W.W. II and the Korean Conflict he served overseas with the U.S. Navy. Mr. Rainville was a graduate of Northeastern University and for 35 years was employed by MIT in Cambridge, and at Lincoln Laboratories in Lexington and Haystack Observatory in Westford. He retired from MIT in 1986 and was a member Ste. Anne Parish as well as the AARP both of Salem.
He is survived by 3 sons: Thomas A. Rainville and his wife Cindy of Salem, Michael R. Rainville and his wife Julie of Norton, Donald V. Rainville and his wife Michelle of Camden, ME, 2 daughters: Carol A. Rainville of Salem and Patricia M. Mazzola of Westboro, 3 brothers: Roger of Salem, Andre and Robert Rainville both of Florida, a sister: Rita Finniss of Salem. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren: Matthew, Adam, Allison, Andrew, Brianna & Gregory Rainville, Jessica and Anthony Mazzola and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was also father of the late David J. Rainville and was predeceased by his brother George Rainville and his sister Anita Oliver.
Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral on Saturday, September 9, 2006, at 8 am from the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St., [Rt. 114 / 1-A] Salem, followed by his funeral mass in Ste. Anne Church, Salem at 9 am. Visiting hours: Friday 4 to 8 pm. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem.
