Roy A. Arsenault Jr., 64, of Londonderry, NH, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 11, 2025 after a brief illness. Born on January 21, 1961 in Melrose, MA, Roy was the son of the late Roy Arsenault Sr. and the late Marie (Palermo) Arsenault.
Roy was a successful business owner for many years, operating several well-known establishments that served as gathering places for friends, colleagues, and the broader community. Through this work, his life became deeply intertwined with the city of Manchester and the people who call it home. To many, he was a familiar and constant presence. An active and engaged member of his community, Roy believed in lifting others up and supporting friends, colleagues, and causes with generosity and loyalty, never seeking recognition. His impact extended beyond business into local politics, where he was deeply involved and supportive of candidates and causes he believed in. He was widely respected for his sharp political mind and wealth of knowledge. Roy ran for public office himself, a reflection of his commitment to civic life. He believed deeply in participation and dialogue.
What defined Roy the most was the way he showed up for people. He was a loyal friend, a mentor, and a reliable presence during some of the hardest moments in others’ lives. Time and again, he offered help without being asked, gave advice without judgment, and extended second chances when others would not. Many credit Roy with teaching them, guiding them, or simply listening when it mattered most. He was known for his intelligence, his dry sense of humor, and a reserved nature that gave way to warmth once you earned his trust.
Roy was deeply devoted to his family. He cared for his parents with steady love and commitment throughout their lives, always attentive to their needs and well-being. He shared an enduring bond with his sister, remaining a constant presence in her life. They spent holidays together as a family, and Roy offered his time, insight, and perspective when needed. He was especially proud of and close to his niece and nephew, whom he adored. He took quiet joy in staying connected, checking in, and making time for those he loved, even when his own life was demanding.
A lifelong New England sports fan, Roy was an avid supporter of the New England Patriots. He attended many games, including several Super Bowls, always sharing those experiences with friends because, for him, the best part was watching others enjoy the moment. Whether at a game, talking politics, or managing his business, Roy was always making sure everyone was taken care of. He created memories that people will carry with them for the rest of their lives.
Roy is survived by his sister, Lynne Dejadon, and her husband Robert of Pelham, NH; his nephew, Tyler Dejadon, and his wife Nicol of Bedford, MA; and his niece, Brooke Dejadon, and her fiancé Joseph McMains of North Andover, MA; and several longtime friends who were like family to him.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, December 19th from 4 PM to 7 PM at Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Road, Londonderry, NH. Funeral services will be held at a later date.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, December 21, from 1 PM to 4 PM at Murphy’s Tap Room and Carriage House in Bedford, NH. Friends, family, and all who knew Roy are invited to gather, share stories, and honor a life that meant so much to so many.
