Dorothy L (Ballentine) Millett Of Beverly, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2025 at the age of 92. Beloved wife of the late Roger R Millett. Devoted and loving mother of the late Michael R Millett, sons Richard, Mark and his wife Donna Millett, daughters Christine Heffernan (James) and Nancy Lufkin (Kenneth). Cherished grandmother of Michelle MacLean, Sarah McPartland, James Heffernan lll, Jody Heffernan, Trevor Millett, and Alex and Adam Lufkin. Great grandmother of Hannah, Rachel, Megan and Emma McPartland and Duncan “Mac” MacLean. Daughter of the late Joel and Mildred Ballantine. Predeceased by her two brothers, Joel and Robert. Survived by her brother, Thomas, and adored sister-in-law, Candy.
Dot was an avid (maybe rabid?) Red Sox fan. She knew every player and position, collected pins, shirts, autographed photos and lots of memorabilia over the years. When she got to attend a game, it was like winning the lottery. One of her fondest moments was getting to hold the 2013 World Series trophy on its plane ride trip to spring training in Florida.
Family was everything to Dot and she loved and supported her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews throughout her entire life. She raised her two youngest children as a single mom, with incredible support from her son Michael, after losing her beloved husband at the age of 41. Dot cherished her family and friends above everything. She was a warm, compassionate and kind woman who will be missed by all who knew her. The family of Dorothy Millett wishes to thank the staff at Sawtelle Family Hospice for the outstanding and compassionate care she received.
A Celebration of Life for both her and her son, Michael, will be held at the Franco American Club, 44 Park St, Beverly on January 3, 2026 from 1- 5pm. Burial is private. In lieu of flowers, support for any charity helping those in need is appreciated. Two of many that Dot supported are Boot Straps in Beverly and the Globe Santa.
