Donna C. O’Neil-Galligan, age 66, of Mansfield, passed away unexpectedly, yet peacefully at home on Friday, December 12, 2025. She was the beloved wife of Thomas F. Galligan, to whom she was wed for sixteen years.
Born in Boston, MA on May 12, 1959, she was a loving daughter of the late John and Claire (Stokes) O’Neil.
Donna grew up 9n the City of Quincy and was a 1977 graduate of North Quincy High School. She had made her home in Mansfield for the past twenty-two years and had previously been employed as a Legal Secretary for the Attorney General’s Office in Boston.
Donna’s favorite times were those spent amongst family and friends. She was a member of the Fall River Lodge of Elks and enjoyed worldwide traveling and spending time at the beach, especially Myrtle Beach. Her other hobbies included knitting, gardening and cooking.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her devoted son Michael J. O’Neil and his fiancé Kayla Johnson of Lincoln, RI and was the cherished and proud grandmother of Jaxon J. O’Neil of Lincoln, RI. She was the dear sister pf Robert F. O’Neil of Pennsylvania, Edward J. O’Neil of Fall River and Mary O’Neil-Sullivan of Fall River. She is also survived by her many much-loved nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours on Friday, December 19th from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main Street, Mansfield.
Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 20th at 12:00 Noon at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home. Burial will be held privately at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
