Robert (Bob) Edward Newton Died on December 2nd, 2025 at the age of 90 from complications after a fall, as well as other health issues.
Bob was born in Milford, MA to Edward and Marion Newton of Upton, MA. He was a proud veteran of the United States Coast Guard, serving from 1954-58. For one year (‘55-’56) he was stationed on Baffin Island above the Arctic circle at a LORAN station, and later taught at the Coast Guard base in Groton, CT.
Bob married Ann Milford in 1969 and in 1970 moved to Tewksbury, MA, where they raised their two children.
Many summers were spent on the shores of Lake Superior in Eagle Harbor, MI at the family cottage, where he was an occasional docent at the local historic lighthouse.
Bob was an electrical engineer by profession, but also enjoyed woodworking as well as anything mechanical. He was known among his family and friends for his vast knowledge as well as his creative and innovative, yet practical inventions and solutions to everyday problems - always accompanied by many stories!
Bob is survived by his wife Ann, his Daughter Beth Tubbs and her husband Jeff Tubbs of Northbridge, MA, his son Edward and partner Jennifer Norton of Lowell, MA, his grandchildren Katharine, Sarah, Libby and Michael Tubbs, as well as granddog Bailey and grandcats Harry and Sally.
