Jessie Eleanor Kennedy, 89, passed away on Tuesday, December 9th, at Westford House Nursing Home in Westford, MA. Born in Lowell, she was raised and educated in Somerville, the daughter of the late Joseph R. and Mary (Fralick) Kennedy.
Jessie worked for many years as an administrative assistant for Ginsburg Brothers in Somerville and Billerica, and lived in Medford for over 30 years, moving to Westford six years ago. She was warm, charming and adored by her many friends and family. Jessie was an excellent cook and loved a good party. We all share cherished memories of events at her homes in Medford and Lowell. However, her favorite role was as Nana to her three cherished grandchildren.
Jessie was the devoted mother of Susan Kelly-Weeder and her husband Daniel Weeder, and Victor M. Scoppe. She was the loving grandmother of Crystal Troy and her husband Drew, and Duncan and Quinlan Kelly. She was the dear sister of Josephine Karner and her late husband Sandy, and the late Louise York and her husband Donald, the late Mary Millett and her husband Emmett, the late Katherine Martino and her husband Louis, and the late Anne Brooks and her husband Tom. Jessie was predeceased by her former husband Victor C. Scoppe, and is survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, December 15th, from 9 to 11 AM in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 441 Fellsway West, Medford, at 11:30 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
