Frank J. Candela, 102

Frank J. Candela, age 102, of Mansfield, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 9, 2025. He was the beloved husband of the late Catherine I. (Cipriani) Candela, to whom he was wed for fifty-six years at the time of her death on August 4, 2003.

Born in Norfolk, MA on July 31, 1923, he was a loving son of the late Rotilio and Orsola (Rainone) Candela.

Frank grew up in the Town of Norfolk and was a graduate of Walpole School. He had made his home in Mansfield for the past seventy years and prior to retiring in 1990, was a superintendent for the Plumbers & Pipefitters Union Local 51.

Frank’s life was always centered around his adoring family and helping others in way possible. He was a communicant of Saint Mary’s Church in Mansfield and when younger, was involved in Scouting. Mr. Candela also enjoyed playing golf with his son and will always be remembered for having the ability to fix just about anything.

He is survived by his devoted children, Diane E. Martin and her husband Robert of Mansfield and Steven L. Candela and his wife Nancy of Pocasset. He was the cherished grandfather of Cara, Gina, Gregory, Chelsea, Patricia and Nicholas. He was the dear brother of Rose White of Norfolk, Anne Colello of Millis, Josephine Cisternelli of Wrentham, Louis Candela of Norfolk and the late Pauline Valente, Grace Jones, Julius Candela and Ralph Candela. He is also survived by his many much-loved nieces and nephews.

Services, along with burial at Saint Mary’s cemetery in Mansfield will be private and visiting hours are omitted.
