Robert B. Johnson, age 90, passed away on November 23, 2025 at the River Mills Assisted Living Facility in Chicopee, with family by his side and knowing that he was loved by his wife, children, extended family and friends, and a dedicated team of caregivers who provided loving support over the past months. Robert received the Holy Anointing before passing, which brought great peace and comfort to the family. He was born on April 4, 1935 in Chicopee, son of the late Lisle Johnson and Margaret (Fitzsimmons) Johnson. Robert was proud to be a lifelong resident of Chicopee, and member of Holy Name Parish. He served in the US Army. He worked at Uniroyal for 27 years and later at UMass in the maintenance department before he retired. He was a member of the American Legion Post 452 in Chicopee and the Knights of Columbus Elder Council #69 in Chicopee. He is survived by his wife of 66 years Emilie (Martin) Johnson of Chicopee; one son, Martin Johnson and partner Carol Abdow of Chicopee; three daughters, Mary Johnson of Chicopee, Ann Johnson and her husband Mark Gelfond of Hopkinton and Maureen Johnson of Chicopee; two brothers, Gerald Johnson and his wife Betty of Scotland and Russell “Rusty” Johnson of Ludlow; one grandson, David Johnson and his wife Rachel and one great granddaughter Harper Johnson.
