Thomas Loren Owen
March 31, 1949-July 17, 2025
Thomas Loren Owen, 76, peacefully went to heaven to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 17, 2025, surrounded by his children and grandchildren, after suffering from a severe illness.
Born on March 31, 1949, Tom was a lifelong resident of Anderson, Indiana. After graduating from Anderson High School in 1967 and Anderson College in 1971 (Bachelor of Business, Psychology; President of Amici Men’s Club), he worked for 32 years for General Motors (Guide Lamp) and retired in 2003.
He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed working in the yard, following the stock market, reading the newspaper, and cheering for the Chicago Bears like his father. Tom loved Jesus Christ, studied the Bible daily, and prayed daily for his dear friends, family, and church (East Side Church of God, Park Place Church of God). He had God’s gift of contentment and happiness. He had a big, loving heart, was a generous giver, and had a quick, witty humor.
He was preceded in death by his beautiful wife, Sungcha Lee Owen (2024), his parents, Loren Anderson Owen (1994) and Ida Eugenia Aycock Owen (1995), and brother, Anthony Byrd Owen (1941, infant). He is survived by his sons, Robert Loren Owen of Rochester, MN (wife Ferris; children Clara, Ellie Loren, and John Mark) and Jeffrey Owen of Jupiter, FL (wife Heather; children Simon and Penny).
A private family service was held at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service.
