
PORTER- Jean A. Eastman, age 91, of Porter, passed away peacefully on Dec. 7, 2025.
She was born in Effingham, NH on Nov. 6, 1934, and attended Kennett High School and later received her GED at Sacopee High School.
On Oct 17, 1953, she married Alfred Eastman Sr. and was married for 62 years.
Jean taught Sunday school at the Riverside United Methodist Church for 13 years She enjoyed knitting, crocheting making dollies, going to Antique stores and flea markers selling items with Benjamin Bean.
She loved taking care of her grandkids and great grandkids and playing games with them- especially Parchessi. She also enjoyed watching the Andy Griffith shows with them and watching their sporting games they played in school. Jean loved working at Buzzie's Greenhouse and planting and picking strawberries for several years.
Jean pulled her and Alfred's steers at the fairs in the powder puff class.
She is predeceased by her husband Alfred Eastman; father- Charles Albert Wheeler; mother- Florance Wheeler; and sisters- Alberta Cabana, Ruth Goodall, and Marian Templeton
She is survived by sisters- Frances (Frankie) Wheeler, and June Brown; sons- Alfred Eastman Jr and wife Kathryn Eastman, and Charles Eastman and partner Brenda Stubbs; grandchildren- Pamela Doremus and husband Michael, Steven Eastman and Wife Santana, Valerie Libby, Ricky Eastman and Jamie Lynn Eastman; great grandchildren- Steven Eastman Jr, Tika Eastman, Jasmine Eastman, Andrew Doremus, Hanna Libby, Ethan Libby, Gavin, Jarrett, Carter, Alia, Heaven, Nevaeh, Peyton and Levi.
Visiting hours will be held on Saturday Dec. 20th from 10 AM - 12 noon at the Poitras, Neal & York Funeral Home, 71 Maple St., Cornish. Burial will be in the spring at Porter Village Cemetery.
