Obituary

Edna C. England, 94, formerly of Cheryl Drive, Johnston, died Thursday, December 4, 2025 at the Jeanne Jugan Residence in Pawtucket.

Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Aldea (Bilodeau) Vanasse. She was the second born of 9 children, Edna remained close to and cared greatly about her siblings offering her home for celebrations, holiday gatherings and get togethers. She will be missed by many. She was a beloved sister and aunt stepping in to help her family.

Edna is survived by her son: David England, DO and his wife, Victoria, of Phoenix, Arizona, her three daughters: Terri O’Rorke of Keene, New Hampshire, Lorraine Woods of Lookout Mountain, Georgia, and Donna Clark of Arkansas, her seven grandchildren: Shanna, Erin, Samson, Jozlyn, Addyson, Macy, and Kinsley, and the late Heather, and her six great grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers: Donald Vanasse of Camarillo, CA, and Roger Vanasse of Coventry, RI and two sisters, Pauline Schmidt of Phoenix, AZ and Lillian Roger of Coventry, RI.

Edna was a skilled seamstress and needle crafter, taking great delight in gifting family and others with her crafts. She knit hats and blankets for the newborns at Women & Infants Hospital. She was a Girl Scout Leader, a member of the Red Hat Society, enjoyed daily mass at her church where she volunteered, she later volunteered at The Audubon Society of Rhode Island.

Her funeral will be held Monday, December 22, 2025 at 9am from the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Rt 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 1804 Atwood Avenue, Johnston, RI. Burial will follow in St. Ann’s Cemetery, Cranston. Visitation will be Sunday, December 21, 2025 from 1-3pm.
