Christine E. Martino, 78

Dateline: Tewksbury, MA

Christine E. (Fleming) Martino, age 78, a former longtime resident of Tewksbury, passed away peacefully in the care of her loving family on Sunday, December 7, 2025. She was the beloved wife of the late John R. Martino, to whom she was wed for forty-two years.

Born in Cambridge, MA December 21, 1946, she was a loving daughter of the late Edward and Eva (DeAngelis) Fleming.

Chris grew up i9n Somerville and was a 1964 and first graduating class of Arlington Catholic High School. She continued her studies, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics from Boston State College.

Prior to retiring, Mrs. Martino taught junior and high school math for Dracut Public Schools and also served as a former National Level Gymnastics Judge for both high school and USA levels. She treasured the times spent with her adoring family and also enjoyed reading and baking.

She was the devoted mother of Stephanie Schwartz and her husband Brian of Mansfield, with whom she made her home and Matthew T. Martino of Somerville. She was the cherished grandmother of Aden Schwartz of Mansfield and Trevor Schwartz of Mansfield. She was the dear sister of Robert Fleming and his wife Arlene of Weymouth and Joseph Fleming of Maine. She is also survived by her many loving nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours on Saturday, December 13th from 12:00-2:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main Street, Mansfield.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at the conclusion of visiting hours on Saturday at 2:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home. Burial will be private.

Shivah will be held on both Friday, December 12th from 1:00-5:00 P.M. and Saturday December 13th from 5:00-9:00 P.M. at the home of Christine’s daughter Stephanie Schwartz and son-in-law Brian Schwartz in Mansfield.
