Verna Jewell Garrett

Verna Jewell Garrett, 70, passed away at Edgewater Woods in Anderson on December 2, 2025 following an extended illness. She was born in Bath County, Kentucky on August 5, 1955, the daughter of Cecil and Dolores Gallagher.
She worked for Dr. Terry Marsh for over 20 years and operated her own private cleaning business-Jewell Cleaning Services for 20 years and had previously worked for Indiana Glass. She was a member of Shepherd Chapel, enjoyed gardening (especially her roses) and cooking/baking (pumpkin bread and buckeyes were two of her specialties).
Verna is survived by her husband of 20 years, Donald Kyle Garrett; her sons, Christopher Williams and Jarred (Debra) Smith; grandchildren, Brooklyn Smith, Lorraine Emley, Clifford Williams; great-grandchildren Aubrey and Lincoln Emley; siblings, Kathy Helpstine, Larry Gallagher, David Gallagher, Paul (Missy) Gallagher, Clarence (Darlene) Gallagher, Mary Black, Debar (William) Roland; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, granddaughter, Zoey Smith, and siblings Claudia Carmichel and Eugene Gallagher.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at 2 PM at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service officiated by Pastor Frank Baldwin.
Visitation at the funeral home will precede the service from Noon until 2 PM.
Burial will follow at Bronnenberg Cemetery in Chesterfield.
