Gary D. Weaver, age 69, of Oxnard, California, passed away at home on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, with his wife by his side.
Born in August 1956, he was the middle son of the late Nettie Mae Maddox and William L. Weaver of Seminole, Oklahoma.
In May 1986, Gary married Rita Duarte-Weaver in Ventura, and they welcomed their son, Gary II, in 1987.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Rita Duarte-Weaver; his son, Gary (Samantha); and his brother, David (Diana). Additionally, he is survived by three nieces and four nephews. His Godchildren are Amanda Thompson (Keven), Emmanuel Esparza, Omar, and Maggie Castaneda.
Gary was employed by Ventura County Behavioral Health for twelve years prior to his retirement. He also worked for The Salvation Army in Oxnard as an outreach and community support staff member, as well as at St. John’s Medical Center as a Central Supply Technician. He served as a Central Supply Technician at Ventura County Medical Center, where he met and married his wife.
"My father was a man of humor and purpose. He dedicated his life to helping others, whether as a nurse or by giving a homeless man seeking to return home his favorite jacket. He was always quick with a joke and continually sought knowledge.”
Family and friends are invited to Memorial Services to be held with Military Honors Friday, December 12, 2025, at 1pm in the JOSEPH P. REARDON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICE, 757 E. Main Street, Ventura.
