
John L. Haney, 74, of Londonderry, NH, died Thursday December 4, 2025 in Bedford Hills Care and Rehabilitation Center in Bedford, NH. He was born on April 11, 1951 in Portland, ME, a son of Robert and Joan E. (Spiller) Haney. He had been a resident of Londonderry since 1999, formerly living in Derry, NH. John graduated from Portland High School in 1969 where he was a proud member of the swim team. He then graduated from the University of Maine with a degree in History. John had been employed as a manager for PetSmart for the past ten years, formerly managing at W.T. Grant and KMart. He loved going UPTA-CAMP at Highland Lake in Falmouth, ME. He also enjoyed fishing, was an avid swimmer, and loved spending time with his family, especially at camp. He was extremely proud of his Irish heritage, and was able to fulfill his dream of visiting Ireland with his wife Noraidé. John loved listening to Irish music, and attended every Irish festival he could find.
He is survived by his wife, Noraidé (Toldeo) Haney of Londonderry; his daughters, Emily Haney, and Kate Nelson and her husband Kristoff; his son, John Haney; four sisters, Caroline Diamon, Cheryl Levasseur, Candace Porter, and Lucinda "Cindy" Fennelly; his brother, Robert Haney; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A calling hour will be held on Friday, December 12th from 9 - 10am in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. A funeral service will follow at 10:00am in the funeral home with burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, Gilcreast Road, Londonderry. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741.
