Obituary

CHICOPEE – Dorothy M. (Bergeron) Neveu, 91, of the Fairview section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Thursday, December 4, 2025. She passed into Eternal Life at home surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born at home in Chicopee on February 8, 1934, a beloved daughter of the late Edward A. and Yvonne A. (Provost) Bergeron. She was raised and educated in Chicopee and had moved to Fairview in 1966 where she lived the remainder of her life. She furthered her education and completed Comptometer School in Springfield. She was employed as an accounting supervisor at Notch Mechanical Contractors in Chicopee. She was a communicant of Saint Anne Church in Chicopee and a member of the Ladies of the Moose Lodge 1849, the local Travel Club and a volunteer at the Fairview Council 4044 Knights of Columbus, all in Chicopee. She enjoyed traveling and wintering in Arcadia, Florida with her late husband, Rene. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend, Rene H. Neveu who was Called Home on February 15, 2014. They were married on November 24, 1955 at the former Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Chicopee and were blessed with over 58 years of happiness together. She leaves her three loving children, Sandra A. Suska and her husband, Michael, of Feeding Hills, Robert R. Neveu of Chicopee and Richard T. Neveu and his wife, Deonia, of Whitsett, NC; her three cherished grandchildren, Nicholas Suska and his partner, Calie Philopena of Stafford Springs, CT, Kellie-Anne Archambault and her husband, Kody, of West Springfield and Rileyann Neveu of Whittsett, NC; her dear sister, Joan Puffer of Granby; her two dear brothers in law, F. Richard Neveu and his wife, Annette, of West Springfield and Roger Neveu and his wife, Paulette, of Merritt Island, FL; her dear sister in law, Lorraine Evans of Ocala, FL; and her many dear nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her dear brother, Edward Bergeron and his wife, Shirley; her three dear brothers in law, Donald Puffer, John Neveu and his wife, Helen, Ronald Evans; and her dear sister in law, Loraine Neveu. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, December 10, 2025 beginning at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (413-533-3307), 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 8:30 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Anne Church, 30 College Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her burial will follow the Mass at Notre Dame Cemetery, 63 Lyman Street, South Hadley, MA 01075. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 10, 2025 from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. prior to her Mass. The funeral home parking lot and main entrance are located in the rear.
