Obituary

CHICOPEE – Eileen A. (Burke) Lapierre, 76, of the Fairview section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Wednesday, December 3, 2025. She passed into Eternal Life at Holyoke Medical Center in Holyoke surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Holyoke on February 27, 1949, a beloved daughter of the late Patrick J. and Esther H. (Menard) Burke. She was raised and educated in Holyoke and was a Junior U.S. Olympic Swimmer through the Holyoke YMCA. She moved to Fairview in 1985 where she lived the remainder of her life. She was employed as an assistant manager at the former Service Merchandise at the Holyoke Mall at Ingleside in Holyoke. Active in her Catholic faith, she was a communicant of Saint Anne Church in Chicopee where she also served as a longtime volunteer, Eucharistic Minister and was a member of the Saint Anne Sodality Guild of the Church. During her leisure time, she enjoyed crocheting. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and her many friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend, Kenneth R. Lapierre who was Called Home on February 4, 2021. They were married on May 17, 1975 at the American Legion Post 353 in Chicopee and were blessed with over 45 years of happiness together. She leaves her three loving children, Karen D. Jalbert and her husband, Daniel, of Westfield, Jennifer A. LeMay of Chicopee and Jason P. Lapierre and his wife, Noel, of Little River, SC; her eight cherished grandchildren, Andrew Jalbert and his wife, Vera, Kathryn “Katie” Jalbert and her fiancée, Jonathan Rosales Munoz, Zachary LeMay, Justin Guzman and his fiancée, Sadie Lynn Fitzsimmons, Alexander Lapierre and his husband, Ryan, Noah Lapierre and his wife, Danielle, Makayla Lapierre and her fiancé, Dakota Faulk, and Logan Lapierre; her two cherished great granddaughters, Mila Jalbert and Lilah Faulk; and her many dear nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her nine dear brothers and sisters. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, December 9, 2025 beginning at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (413-533-3307), 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 9 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at Saint Anne Church, 30 College Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her committal service will follow the Mass at 1p.m. in the Chapel at the Massachusetts Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam, MA 01001. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, December 9, 2025 from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. prior to her Mass. The funeral home parking lot is located in the rear.
