SPRINGFIELD - Michelle (Peterson) Peterson, 68, a longtime resident of the East Springfield section of Springfield, was Called Safely Home on Tuesday, December 2, 2025. She passed into Eternal Life at Agawam South Rehab and Nursing in Agawam surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Westfield on December 30, 1956 a beloved daughter of William Holland, Sr. of Florida and the late and Ida (Diabo) Peterson. She was raised in Canada and later raised and educated in West Springfield before moving to Springfield where she lived for many years. She was employed as a toll collector for the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority and had worked in Westfield. During her leisure time, she enjoyed spending time with her family and many friends. She leaves her two loving sons, Daniel Bernatchez and his wife, Jennifer, of Granby and Beau Bernatchez and his partner, Marcella, of Lee; her former husband, Michel L. Bernatchez of Westfield; her loving step son, Andre Bernatchez of Holyoke; her loving step daughter, Melony Bernatchez of Springfield; her four dear sisters, Donna Peterson of Canada, Linda Dubois of Springfield, Irene Peterson of Arizona and Rita Santagata of Florida; her two dear brothers, William Holland, Jr. of Otis and Emmett Holland of West Springfield; and her many dear nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members in the United States and Canada and her many dear friends. In addition to her mother, she was predeceased by her loving son, Mark Bernatchez who was Called Home on December 11, 2024; and her dear brother, Donald Peterson.
