BUXTON- David Roger Redlon, age 85, passed away on November 30, 2025, at his home after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
David was born in Portland, Maine on November 25, 1940, a son of Leon and Caroline (Baker) Redlon. He graduated from Samuel D. Hanson High School, in Buxton Maine, after which David worked as an apprentice plumber. David married Sherry Eastman while serving in the United States Navy and was a veteran of the Vietnam war. After serving David was employed by Portsmouth Naval Shipyard for six years before starting his own business as a plumber, until 1981 when he started work at Bath Iron Works. David quickly became a supervisor in the pipe shop, eventually retiring at the age of 69.
David enjoyed camping, canoeing, fishing, and spending time in the great outdoors. He volunteered at Camp Good News and served in his church.
He is survived by his beloved wife Sherry and his children, Matthew Redlon and his wife Jacqueline, of Sunnyvale, California; Jeremy Redlon and his wife Nichole of Buxton, Maine; Benjiman Redlon, and his wife Racheal, of Windham, Maine; and Jessica Redlon, of Portland, Maine. Four Grandchildren – Brianna, Brandon, Conner, Elliott, and Serenity, and six Great Grandchildren – Parker, Silas, Emilia, Bella, Henry, and Brent.
There will be a time of visitation at 2:00 p.m. followed by a brief memorial at 3:00 p.m. on December 7 at the Chad E. Poitras Cremation and Funeral Service Chapel, 498 Long Plains Road (Rt.22) in Buxton. Burial will be in the spring. Online condolence messages can be left at www.mainefuneral.com. Visitation will be held on Sunday Dec. 7th from 2 - 3 PM, followed by a time of sharing at 3 PM at the Chad E. Poitras Cremation and Funeral Service Chapel, 498 Long Plains Road (Rt. 22), in Buxton. Burial will be at a later time at Hillcrest Cemetery in Hollis.
