William Dean Clark, of Derry, NH, passed away on November 25, 2025 at the Exeter Hospital, Exeter, NH from ongoing medical complications he fought with determination on a daily basis for 11 years. He was predeceased by his parents Eleanor (McNamara) and Wardell Henry Clark, as well as his sisters Patricia Giguere, Deborah Merklinger, and Rita Fenoff, and his grandson Alex Bilodeau. He is survived by his sister Eleanor of N. Woodstock, NH, brothers Frederick of Wethersfield, CT and Richard formerly of Walpole, MA; his three daughters, Deanna Bilodeau of Amesbury, MA, Jaime Glass of Florence, KY and Shauna Hickman of Derry; 11 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was forever grateful for the special caretaking support his loving daughter Shauna so tirelessly provided right through his final days in Hospice.
Shauna orchestrated bringing his cherished survivors for visits, where rallied to regale them with meaningful memory conversations and hugs during his extended hospice. He greeted all with a post cat-nap smiling acknowledgement, rolled thoughtfully through collective memories of our shared life experiences and ended all with the declaration that he would come see you after he got home.
Dean lived simply. He enjoyed always being ready to share or help anybody and everybody. In the later stages of life, Dean lived in Amesbury, MA where he dug in to flourish as a committed friend to those in need. He will be remembered as a tenacious bulldog on the football field and team, literally playing any and all positions where needed or directed for 4 years. Dean was a huge supporter of the Methuen Basketball League for boys and girls for many years as a coach, as well as at St. Monica’s School, Methuen, MA.
Dean was a huge fan of the Yankees and loved when they would go up against the Red Sox. He has lived a wonderful life filled with memories of those who loved him and will now be our guardian angel.
