
Robert Thomas Brooks III, 49, of Boston, passed away unexpectedly on November 15th.
He was born in Boston on October 3, 1976, the loving son of Robert Thomas Brooks Jr. and Janice Allen Brooks. Robert began his education at Cambridge Montessori School, then attended St. Peter School in Cambridge where he received his 8th-grade diploma. He later attended Buckingham Browne & Nichols School in Cambridge, Freyburg Academy in Maine, and completed his high school education through Jewish Vocational Services in Boston. Throughout his life, Robert continued to further his studies by completing various college courses.
Robert worked a wide variety of jobs and was naturally skilled in many trades. He enjoyed fishing with his children, family, and friends. From a very young age, he excelled in speed skating and was a proud member of the renowned Chez Vous Speed Skating Team in Dorchester. He also attended the Elma Lewis School of Fine Arts in Boston and performed on stage in the production of Black Nativity. In high school, Rob was a standout athlete on both the football and wrestling teams.
He was well-traveled and loved venturing out of town whenever he could to explore new places. Rob had a tremendous sense of humor and a generous, adventurous heart. He lived life freely, always finding the silver lining in every situation. He knew how to make life fun and full of excitement, and he never hesitated to help others—often giving even a stranger his last.
In addition to his parents, Rob is survived by his four children and one grandchild: Robert Thomas Brooks IV, Brandi Summer Brooks, Shaianne Love Brooks, their mother Jennifer Gayle Motes, Destini Tivohna Brooks; his grandson Jay’mere Krishawn Brooks, Jay’meres grandmother Nichole Robinson; his grandmother Charlene Thomas; his uncle Precious Brooks; his sister Melanie Brooks; his brothers Marcus Langston Brooks and Cyrus Akeem Brooks; his nephews Shawn Carl Brooks and Cyrus Akeem Brooks Jr.; his aunts Gwendolyn Wright and Roni Harris; and a host of loving cousins, family, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Richard Allen, Jacqueline Allen, uncles Michael Allen & Ricky Allen, aunt Patricia Brumfield and his paternal grandfather Robert Thomas Brooks Sr.
