Obituary

It is with deep love and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Deborah “Debbie” Aviles, who left this world on November 26th, 2025 surrounded by family. She was born in Boston on December 9th, 1962 to the late Kathleen (Green) Hough and William Hough.

Debbie found joy in life’s simple and meaningful pleasures—curling up with a good book, traveling to new places, her love of musicals and spending time with family and friends who filled her days with laughter, connection and warmth. Driven by her love of learning she returned to school in her later years and earned an associates degree at the age of 61.

She leaves behind her devoted husband Gary Aviles of Bellingham. She was a loving mother to her daughters Alexandria and Cassandra Aviles of Bellingham. She is survived by her sister Donna Zukas and her husband Peter of Bellingham, her brother William Hough and his wife Kristi of Bellingham and her father William Hough of Milford. She also leaves behind many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.

Her love extended beyond people—she adored her “grandpups,” who brought her endless smiles and companionship. She cherished the happiness they brought into her days.

Her light, her laughter and her love will remain with us always.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Saturday, December 6th, 2025 from 11 A.M to 2 P.M at the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home, 33 Cottage St. Franklin. Words of remembrance will follow at 2 P.M at the funeral home.
