
John R. “Jack” Lynch, age 85, a resident of Tewksbury for 45 years, formerly of Malden and Charlestown, passed away at the Lowell General Hospital on Sunday, November 30, 2025, following a brief illness.
He was the beloved husband of Martha (Sullivan) Lynch, with whom he celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary on November 27, 2025.
Born in Boston on December 27, 1939, he was the son of the late Eugene Lynch and the late Helen (Kingsley) Lynch.
Jack was raised in Charlestown and Malden. He attended local schools and graduated from Cathedral High School.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a ramp agent by U.S. Airways at Logan Airport in Boston.
Jack was an avid sports fan, he especially loved his Patriots, Bruins and the Red Sox. He especially enjoyed attending his grandson’s baseball games and following Boston College athletics. In addition, he loved following horse racing, traveling to area casinos, having family and friends at his pool and traveling in his early years..
He was proud of his Irish heritage and was a member of the Malden Irish-American Club.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Megan McCarthy and her husband Robert, and Michael J. Lynch and his wife Stefanie, all of Dracut: three grandchildren, Katelyn McCarthy, Riley and Colin Lynch, all of Dracut: his sister-in-law, Rosemary Sullivan, of Dracut and his predeceased brother-in-law, Michael J “Sully” Sullivan, of Lowell.
Jack was the brother of the late Eugene Lynch, Jr., William Lynch, Sister Bernadette Marie Lynch, Herbert Lynch, Theresa Thompson, James Lynch and Mary Gallagher.
Calling hours are Wednesday, December 3rd, from 4-7 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee Street, Tewksbury. His funeral procession will begin on Thursday, December 4th, at 9 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by his Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. William’s Church, 1351 Main Street, Route 38, Tewksbury. Services will conclude with interment at St. Mary Cemetery, 90 River Road, Tewksbury. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the American Heart Association, at www.heart.org
