
Larry Ernest Bellamy, Sr., 76, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Sunday, November 30, 2025, at his residence.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, from 6 PM until 8 PM at the Paulk Funeral Home in Fitzgerald. Private graveside services will be held at a later date.
Larry was born February 3, 1949, in Wilkinson County, Georgia, to the late Earnest and Dorothy Griffin Bellamy. Having moved to Fitzgerald when he was 2, he graduated from Fitzgerald High School in 1967. He was a carpenter since the age of 15, working with Roanoke Construction, then he and his dad formed a business. Mr. Larry served honorably in the National Guard for 10 years. He retired after 30 years of service as a Lineman Operator for General Motors. He enjoyed spending time with family, friends, hunting, fishing and going to the “man cave.” He was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Judy Myers Bellamy of Fitzgerald, a daughter, Sandy Bellamy Smith & Tim Fussell of Fitzgerald, a son, Larry Jr. & Andrea Bellamy of Jacksonville, Florida; grandchildren: Traci & Anthony Middlebrooks, Ansley & Joseph Byous, and Ella Bellamy; great grandchildren: Connor Middlebrooks and Ellie Middlebrooks; a brother, Edgar & Carolyn Bellamy; sister in laws: Shirley & Ed Jordan and Sheila Cox Myers; several cousins, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Diane Bellamy.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Parkinson Foundation or your local humane society shelter.
