Worcester – Rasa M. (Dabrila) Chiras, 84, of Worcester, passed away peacefully in her home with family by her side on Saturday, November 29, 2025.
Mrs. Chiras is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Ronald P. Chiras; her two daughters, Rasa M. Chiras and her husband, Derek Willis of St. Augustine, FL and Andrea J. Peters and her husband, Frank of Worcester and her granddaughter, Torie Peters.
Rasa was born in Kapstatai, Lithuania daughter of the late Vincas and Marija (Rusas) Dabrila and graduated from the former Classical High School in 1959 and then attended Boston University.
Mrs. Chiras retired from the R & R Plumbing Company, where she worked for over 10 years as a bookkeeper. Rasa was a member of Maironis Park, a former parishioner of St. Casmir Church and was also a Lithuanian Girl Scout.
Rasa was dedicated to her family and could be found either solving a crossword puzzle, listening to music, cooking for her family or just reading a book, preferably, by the pool. A logophile and an avid reader, she was also a talented pianist and artist. Rasa was an animal enthusiast and cherished all the pets she had had over the years. She had a deep affection for cats which was especially evident from her cherished assortment of cat collectibles. Her husband will miss their nightly ritual of watching movies together.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2025, from 5 PM to 6 PM in the Dirsa – Morin Memorial Chapel 298 Grafton St. Worcester. Memorial contributions in memory of Rasa may be made to either the Worcester Animal Rescue League 139 Holden St. Worcester, MA 01606 or to St. John’s Church 44 Temple St. Worcester, MA 01604.
