New Bedford - Benny F. Bettencourt Sr., age 68, died unexpectedly Friday, September 1, 2006 at St. Luke’s Hospital. Mr. Bettencourt Sr. was the father of Benny F. Jr. and his wife Jacqueline Bettencourt of Acushnet and Stacy Bettencourt and her companion Wayne De Mello of Jupiter, Fl. Four grand children and six great grand children survived him.
Mr. Bettencourt Sr. was born in Newport, Rhode Island and lived in this area all of his life. He was the son of the late Frank and Dorothy A. (Ventor) Bettencourt. He was a Shipper at Borg Warner
Mr. Bettencourt’s funeral will be Wednesday at the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. at 10:30 A.M. with services beginning at 11 A.M. Reverand Charles Cook officiating. Burial will follow at Acushnet Cemetery. Visiting Hours will be on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. at Perry Funeral Home.
